Dégagé
Degage Ministries seeks to reflect the love of Christ as they serve adults living in low income housing, missions or on the streets of Grand Rapids. Two teams are needed for each date. One team serves dinner in the kitchen and the other serves dessert, plays games, and visits with Degage patrons. This way we build friendships and bring the love of Christ to the men and women who drop into the ministry center. Leave church 5:30pm; return 8:30pm. Small Groups Signup below.

Bless the women of the Open Door Ministries at Degage
The Open Door Drop-In Center provides a safe haven during the overnight hours to adult women in need. Some who utilize the Open Door are fleeing a domestic violence situation; others are seeking long-term assistance for psychiatric issues, substance abuse, etc. Trained staff offers immediate crisis counseling, and Christ’s love is reflected in a welcoming environment where women are encouraged to make positive lifestyle changes. On a normal group night in your home, take some time to write cards of encouragement and pray for women who are staying at the Open Door. It means so much and can be as simple or elaborate as your group would like to make it. This can be a onetime involvement or your group can sign up to do this on a regular basis. Contact Emily for more information .

Women at Risk Ministry
An international ministry committed to believers living in the lands of the persecuted church. Specifically ministering to women affected by human trafficking in Thailand. We assist with the WAR boutique by sorting, tagging and packaging jewelry made by these women. Tuesday or Wednesday nights, time is tailored to your small group. Contact Emily with dates that you are available and interested.

LIFE International
An evangelical Christian organization that multiplies healthy life-giving ministries wherever abortion is provided worldwide. The primary purpose of these ministries is to see people come to new life in Christ and pre-born lives saved from abortion. Our role in supporting LIFE International is to assist them on a regular basis with tasks/cleaning at their headquarters in downtown Grand Rapids. Contact Emily to set up a time that works for your group to serve at LIFE.

Pregnancy Resource Center
Your small group can easily donate $150 to the PRC to assist them in ministering to those in need. How? It’s as simple as signing up to clean their facility on a Wednesday night! Your act of service as a group saves them $150 in cleaning costs. As a Christ-centered ministry, the PRC works to glorify God and demonstrate His character to the greater Grand Rapids community. Their ministry goals are to challenge people to embrace a Biblical view of sexuality, defend pre-born children, meet the needs of those unprepared for pregnancy and help heal lives traumatized by abortion.

BHBC Ministry to Widows
There is an ongoing need for groups to provide miscellaneous help to our widows. This includes a wide variety of tasks. Contact Emily if you would like to be on the on-call list to assist our widows.

Let's Share
Each month we will be collecting items to share with those in need in the downtown ministries we support. Degage has an urgent need for disposable razors and individually packaged toothbrushes.  If you or your small group would like to share these items, please drop them off anytime before November 27 in the SOS bin just outside the Student Center. Christmas Giving: Watch for our upcoming partnerships in giving this Christmas…providing for local needs through Degage Ministries and The Other Way Ministries.
